Boxborough Birders are part of Littleton’s annual Little Town Tree Hunt!
Thanks to Charlotte Russell, the Boxborough Birders have been selected as one of the 20 local groups to decorate a tree on Littleton conservation land. The Boxborough Birders tree is at Mill Hill, and Charlotte has decorated it with pictures of 50 different species of birds seen in Littleton. There’s also a bird feeder stocked with ornaments to take home. Each ornament has the species, season when it can be seen, and BoxboroughBirders.org written on the back. It’s a great destination for families with kids, and traffic has been brisk already. The tree hunt runs until January 1.
To see the tree, walk straight in from Mill Road and look for it on the right, before the last of the 3 trails that head up the hill. You might also see a Pileated Woodpecker or Red-Tailed Hawk along the way.
