Boxborough Birders’ Birding Book Club

Boxborough Birders' Birding Book Club

The Boxborough Birders’ Birding Book Club is a monthly discussion group for readers interested in birds, books, and conversation. Led by two members of Boxborough Birders, the club meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., usually on Zoom, to discuss that month’s selected bird-themed book.

Each month’s selection invites us to explore birds from a different angle—through memoir, science, field observation, and fiction.

Our 2026 reading list so far:

  1. The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan (April)
  2. Mozart’s Starling by Lyanda Lynn Haupt (May)
  3. Better Living Through Birding: Notes from a Black Man in the Natural World by Christian Cooper (June)
  4. The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman (July)
  5. The Hummingbird’s Gift: Wonder, Beauty and Renewal on Wings by Sy Montgomery (August)
  6. H Is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald (September)
  7. Birds in Fall: A Novel by Brad Kessler (October)

More titles to come.
